The journey of the survivor

THE JOURNEY OF THE SURVIVOR

What is the price to be paid for being untouchable? What is needed to become a gigantic titan with nothing to fear? TIME. And in nature, having time means staying alive.

This young specimen of Europatitan is discovering this, perhaps too naively venturing out into an open space on the coast, following its desire to eat the tender leaves of Weichselia reticulata.

Growing up and becoming adults in a dangerous nature like that of the Spanish Barremian was not supposed to be a walk in the park; there were likely many potential “obstacles” to growth.

For this Europatitan, on this foggy morning, the “obstacles” take the form of a pair of Concavenator.

The first of the two theropods is dangerously close and studying the young sauropod, waiting for the opportunity and the best position to launch a fatal attack.

The second Concavenator is approaching from afar, perhaps just passing by and drawn to the commotion. A young and inexperienced sauropod is an easy and inviting prey.

However, the young Europatitan is not docile and submissive as the predator expected; instead, it counterattacks, thrashing its small but strong and blunt tail like a whip.

Will the young Europatitan deter its attacker before the second predator arrives, thus managing to escape in time? Will it be able to continue its journey to become untouchable?
