This Spinosaurus is a male in its breeding colouration, we can say it from the brightly coloured throat and the yellow blotches on the sail.Β This maleΒ is patrolling its territory in search of a potential partner.
While it is scoping the clear waters of the tropical mangrove forest, Spinosaurus is making low and prolonged gurglings and glooming bellowings, it is the way the dinosaur is claiming its domain on those lands over other males.
The passage of Spinosaurus has some other smaller inhabitants of Bahariya rivers on the run. We can see the large cartilaginous fish Onchopristis numidus (one of theΒ preys of Spinosaurus) swimming away. Also the fresh-water turtle Apertotemporalis baharijensis and a young Stomatosuchus inermis (a Crocodylomorph) leave their positions, they definitely don’t want to be Spinosaurus dinner.
