Are you looking for vivid illustrations to visually represent your products?

Hi, I’m Simone Zoccante, an Italian natural history illustrator and paleoartist, with a deep-rooted knowledge in zoology, natural history, and paleontology.

An essential part of the work of a scientific illustrator is the ability to visually communicate an idea. The same type of skill is required to highlight the features and concept of a product to an audience.

Throughout my carrier, I have had some work experiences with companies to visually communicate their identity through logos or to provide a visual representation of their products through my illustrations.

Usually, since I specialize in animals and natural environments (landscapes), I find myself curating the visual identity of products related to these themes, including agricultural products, book covers, magazines, games, and entertainment-related items.

The extensive knowledge I have in natural history, combined with proficiency in graphic design, allows me to create a wide range of illustrated products, seamlessly spanning across various sectors.

WHAT I OFFER FOR A COMMERCIAL AND ADVERTISEMENT ILLUSTRATION COMMISSION

1. EYE-CATCHING COLORS: STAND OUT ON THE SHELF

On the shelves of any store, a battle is fought every day: the battle for the customer’s attention.

In a crowded environment filled with competing products, it is crucial to catch the customer’s eye and pique their curiosity from the very beginning.

Among the weapons in this battle for attention are colors. Depending on the culture, each color is coded to evoke specific emotions, sensations, and meanings.

Using the various color palettes effectively balancing vibrant hues can make the difference between creating an impactful and outstanding design versus one that goes unnoticed and fades into the background.

2. SIMPLE SHAPES: TRANSFORM IDEAS INTO IMAGES

Commercial illustration is not only about creating eye-catching packaging or engaging advertisements.

Creating commercial illustrations often involves visually delivering concepts, especially within the realm of illustrations for magazines.

Every month, numerous magazines are published across various industries, whether they are daily, weekly, or even monthly publications. All of these publications require illustrations that can entertain and effectively communicate even the most complex information to a reader audience.

Graphic design, consisting of infographics and illustrations with clean and simple lines, can be the right tool to achieve this goal.

3. CAPTIVATING DESIGN: MEMORABLE IN THE CUSTOMER'S MIND

It is often said that you need to know the rules in order to break them.

When it comes to visual communication the same principle applies, and often breaking these rules and stereotypical conceptual associations allows the design to be memorable in the customer’s mind.

However, breaking the rules should always be done with a specific reason and should serve the purpose of communication, the idea, values, or concepts of a product or brand you are working with.

For example, in the image presented here, I decided to change the representation of a highly stereotyped figure like a cowboy and place it in a more unusual, extravagant, and memorable image to convey the concept of a showdown between man and nature that still takes place in the prairies of the American West.

4. FLAT DESIGN: SIMPLE, STRIKING, ENGAGING

Every era has its own visual style of reference. The current era’s visual style of reference is undoubtedly the flat style.

This design style can be found in numerous editorial and commercial products. From book covers to illustrations in various magazines, from board game, to packaging to designs on advertising billboards.

Mastering this type of language is therefore essential to work in the current market of commercial illustration.
